So I have this new obsession with translating hot drink flavors to ice cream and frozen yogurt. This Thai Tea Frozen Yogurt is the next installment of this quest. As temperatures reach well over 100 degrees here in Arizona, frozen snacks are as essential as water and mosquito nets.
Funny story…I just ordered a mosquito net on Amazon after a terrifying nightmare of mine actually came true. I woke up in the middle of the night to a huge bark scorpion perched on my head. Not exactly a cuddly bedfellow. Needless to say I didn’t sleep well the rest of the night, and the next day I ordered a mosquito net. Let’s talk of more pleasant things…back to Thai Tea.
- 16 oz yogurt
- 1 cup brewed Thai tea
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- To make the Thai Tea Frozen Yogurt, begin by brewing the tea. To every 4 cups of water, I use 1/2 cup of thai tea mix. You can make it easily in an automatic drip coffee maker. Once you have brewed the tea, stir 1 cup into 16 oz plain greek yogurt with honey, cardamom, and coriander.
- To freeze, slowly pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn for 15-20 minutes. The texture will be similar to soft serve. If you don't have an ice cream maker, or prefer hard frozen yogurt, freeze in heavy tupperware for 2 hours or until the desired texture is reached.
