Hello fellow eaters. Welcome to my blog, Sunday Brunch. I am happy beyond words to have finally carved out a [cyber] space through which I can express my food, photography, and writing.
I am constantly inspired by food and have been since I began my adventure with cooking as a teenager in high school. It was, and still is, a large part of my creative expression. When you do something that you love, naturally you want to share it.
I chose the name Sunday Brunch because brunch food is my absolute favorite. The food I cook ranges from traditional to fusion, quick and easy to more time-consuming. I love perfecting a classic dish really well, and also love experimenting with creative recipes. I am a bit of a health nut as well as an indulgent cook, so you will find a mix of healthy, rich, simple, and more intensive recipes on Sunday Brunch.
My food mantra is that cooking does not have to be a chore if you are willing to take risks in the kitchen and be creative. My mother is a wonderful cook and an immeasurable part of my inspiration. She hated to cook until she was 40. Now, she roasts her own veal bones for demi-glace and cooks for 3 days straight before Thanksgiving. Unsurprisingly, I fell into the role of her sous-chef for big dinners and parties and am still learning from her.
It took me a while before I took risks in recipes and had the realization that I didn’t have to follow them. A good recipe is like a guideline; it may outline what flavors taste well together and what ratios to pair them in, but for me life is too short to follow the rules all the time, at least when it comes to food.
You can connect with me by subscribing to the blog and posting on my recipes with any comments and feedback! I always love hearing how my recipes turn out. I am also on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Bloglovin’.
